Blondies

Blondies are good served warm with vanilla ice-cream.  They are good alone or served with your favorite topping (powdered sugar, caramel sauce, etc).  This can be used for a quick desert.  It only takes 10-15 minutes to prepare and approximately 30 minutes to bake.

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter or margarine, melted
  • box (16 oz) light brown sugar (2 1/4 cups packed)
  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • 3/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Grease a 13x9x2 inch pan.  Beat eggs, add butter and brown sugar, mix well.  Then add the flour and add nuts if desired, mix well.  Pour into pan and bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.  Cool in pan, cut into bars while still slightly warm.
