This all time favorite can be made with different flavors of jelly and barbecue sauces to suit your taste. My preference is grape jelly and honey flavored barbecue sauce. May also be prepared in a slow cooker.
- 2 lb ground beef
- 1/4 cup bread crumbs/crackers/toast (your preference)
- 1 egg
- 1 envelope onion soup mix (I also add finely chopped onions sometimes)
Mix ingredients and form into small balls. Brown in small amount of oil on all sides. Can eat as is, dipped or simmered in sauce below (adjust amounts for your preference).
- 1 (10 oz) jar of jelly - any flavor
- 2 (14 oz) jars barbecue sauce
Mix and simmer until jelly melts. Add meatballs and simmer 20 minutes.
